正如经上所记：“神给了他们麻木的灵，有眼睛却看不见，有耳朵却听不到，直到今日。”大卫也说：“愿他们的筵席成为他们的网罗、陷阱、绊脚石和报应；愿他们的眼睛昏暗，不能看见；愿他们的背脊常常弯曲。”

叫他们‘看是看见了，却不领悟，听是听见了，却不明白，免得他们回转过来，得到赦免。’”

他们不能相信，因为以赛亚又说：“神使他们瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他们眼睛看见，心里明白而回转过来；我就医好他们。”
