Then the disciples came up and asked Him,“ Why do You speak to them in parables?”

The disciples came to him and asked,“ Why do you speak to the people in parables?”

The disciples came to him. They asked,“ Why do you use stories when you speak to the people?”

Then the disciples came and said to him,“ Why do you speak to them in parables?”

His disciples came and asked him,“ Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”

Then the disciples came up and asked him,“ Why are you speaking to them in parables?”

And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

He would speak the word to them with many parables like these, as they were able to understand.And He did not speak to them without a parable. Privately, however, He would explain everything to His own disciples.

When He was alone with the Twelve, those who were around Him asked Him about the parables.
