我喜爱良善，不喜爱祭祀；喜爱认识神，胜于燔祭。

经上说：‘我喜爱怜恤，不喜爱祭祀。’这句话的意思，你们且去揣摩。我来本不是召义人，乃是召罪人。”

我朝见耶和华，在至高神面前跪拜，当献上什么呢？岂可献一岁的牛犊为燔祭吗？耶和华岂喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？我岂可为自己的罪过献我的长子吗？为心中的罪恶献我身所生的吗？世人哪，耶和华已指示你何为善。他向你所要的是什么呢？只要你行公义，好怜悯，存谦卑的心，与你的神同行。

耶和华说：“你们所献的许多祭物与我何益呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油，我已经够了；公牛的血，羊羔的血，公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。“你们来朝见我，谁向你们讨这些，使你们践踏我的院宇呢？你们不要再献虚浮的供物。香品是我所憎恶的；月朔和安息日，并宣召的大会，也是我所憎恶的；作罪孽，又守严肃会，我也不能容忍。你们的月朔和节期，我心里恨恶，我都以为麻烦；我担当，便不耐烦。你们举手祷告，我必遮眼不看；就是你们多多地祈祷，我也不听。你们的手都满了杀人的血。你们要洗濯、自洁，从我眼前除掉你们的恶行，要止住作恶，学习行善，寻求公平，解救受欺压的；给孤儿伸冤，为寡妇辨屈。”

定恶人为义的，定义人为恶的，这都为耶和华所憎恶。

耶稣回答说：“你们错了；因为不明白圣经，也不晓得神的大能。

你们定了义人的罪，把他杀害，他也不抵挡你们。

耶路撒冷居住的人和他们的官长，因为不认识基督，也不明白每安息日所读众先知的书，就把基督定了死罪，正应了先知的预言；

因为他必站在穷乏人的右边，要救他脱离审判他灵魂的人。

他又向约伯的三个朋友发怒；因为他们想不出回答的话来，仍以约伯为有罪。

他们大家聚集攻击义人，将无辜的人定为死罪。
