我喜爱怜恤，不喜爱祭祀；我喜爱人认识神的知识，胜过人献的燔祭。

‘我喜爱怜悯，不喜爱祭祀’，你们去想一想这话的意思吧。我来不是要召义人，而是要召罪人。”

我朝见耶和华，在至高的神面前叩拜，当献上什么呢？我朝见他的时候，当献上燔祭，当献上一岁的牛犊吗？耶和华喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？为我的过犯，我可以献上我的长子吗？为我的罪恶，献上我亲生的孩子吗？世人哪！耶和华已经指示你什么是善，他向你所要的又是什么；无非是要你行公义，好怜悯，谦虚谨慎与你的神同行。

耶和华说：“你们献上众多祭物，对我有什么益处呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我已经够了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。你们来朝见我的时候，谁要求你们这样践踏我的院子呢？不要再带没有意义的供物来了，烧献祭物的香气也是我厌恶的。我厌烦月朔、安息日和集会；作罪孽又守严肃会，是我不能容忍的。你们的月朔和制定的节期，我心里恨恶；它们都成了我的重担，我已承担得不耐烦了。所以你们张开双手的时候，我必掩眼不看你们；即使你们多多祷告，我也不听；你们的手都沾满血腥。你们要洗涤自己，洁净自己；从我眼前除掉你们的恶行；要停止作恶，学习行善，寻求公平，指责残暴的人，替孤儿伸冤，为寡妇辨屈。”

宣判恶人为义，裁定义人有罪，二者都是耶和华所厌恶的。

耶稣回答他们：“你们错了，因为你们不明白圣经，也不晓得神的能力。

你们把义人定罪杀害，但他并没有反抗。

住在耶路撒冷的人和他们的官长，因为不认识基督，也不明白每逢安息日所读的先知的话，就把他定了罪，正好应验了先知的话。

因为他必站在贫穷人的右边，拯救他脱离定他死罪的人。

他又向约伯的三个朋友发怒，因为他们虽然仍以约伯为有罪，却找不到回答的话来。

他们集结起来攻击义人，把无辜的人定了死罪。
