For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

But he replied to them,“ My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”

For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, and so he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.”Again he says,“ I will be confident in him,” and again,“ Here I am, with the children God has given me.”Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.Therefore he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

Jesus replied,“ This is the deed God requires– to believe in the one whom he sent.”

And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains forever.

So when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother,“ Woman, look, here is your son!”He then said to his disciple,“ Look, here is your mother!” From that very time the disciple took her into his own home.

in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for herto sanctify her by cleansing her with the washing of the water by the word,so that he may present the church to himself as glorious– not having a stain or wrinkle, or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.

Blessed are those who wash their robes so they can have access to the tree of life and can enter into the city by the gates.

For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that matters is a new creation!

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all and in all.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision carries any weight– the only thing that matters is faith working through love.

So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.“ Not everyone who says to me,‘ Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven– only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Therefore, although God has overlooked such times of ignorance, he now commands all people everywhere to repent,

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

I will declare your name to my countrymen! In the middle of the assembly I will praise you!

I have entered my garden, O my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my balsam spice. I have eaten my honeycomb and my honey; I have drunk my wine and my milk! Eat, friends, and drink! Drink freely, O lovers!I was asleep, but my mind was dreaming. Listen! My lover is knocking at the door!“ Open for me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one! My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”

Then he brought them outside and asked,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”They replied,“ Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Moses said,‘ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people.’

but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds consistent with repentance.

Do we not have the right to the company of a believing wife, like the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers and Cephas?
