耶穌對曰：『以邪惡不淑之世代、而求靈徵、除先知若納之靈徵、更無他徵可授。

一个邪恶淫乱的世代想看神迹，可是除了约拿的神迹以外，再没有神迹给他们看。”于是耶稣离开他们走了。

这时聚集的人越来越多，耶稣说：“这是一个邪恶的世代，人们只想看神迹，但除了约拿的神迹以外，再没有神迹给他们看。正如约拿成了尼尼微人的神迹，人子也要成为这世代的神迹。“在审判的日子，南方的女王和这世代的人都要起来，她要定这个世代的罪，因为她曾不远千里来听所罗门王的智言慧语。看啊！这里有一位比所罗门王更伟大。“在审判的日子，尼尼微人和这世代的人都要起来，尼尼微人要定这个世代的罪，因为他们听到约拿的宣告，就悔改了。看啊！这里有一位比约拿更伟大。

你们这些对主不忠的人啊，难道还不明白与世俗为友就是与上帝为敌吗？所以，凡是与世俗为友的，都是上帝的敌人。

耶和华说：“你们这些巫婆的儿子，奸夫和妓女的孩子，上前来吧！

“在这淫乱、罪恶的世代，如果有人以我和我的道为耻，人子在父的荣耀中与圣天使再来的时候，也要以他为耻。”
