說安慰話的舌頭是生命樹；奸惡的舌頭使人心碎。

義人的舌頭好像純銀，惡人的心思毫無價值。義人的嘴唇培育多人，愚妄人因無知死亡。

你們要讓基督的道豐豐富富地住在你們心裡，以各樣的智慧，彼此教導，互相勸戒，用詩章、聖詩、靈歌，懷著感恩的心歌頌神。

心中有智慧的必稱為聰明人；動聽的話能增加說服力。明慧人的明慧是他生命的泉源；愚妄人的懲罰就是愚妄。智慧人的心教導自己的口，使自己口中的話增加說服力。

義人的口說出智慧，他的舌頭講論正義。神的律法在他心裡，他的腳步必不滑跌。

應對得當，自己也覺喜樂；合時的話，多麼美好！

耶穌說：“所以，每一個作天國門徒的經學家，就像家主從寶庫中拿出新和舊的東西來。”

毒蛇所生的啊，你們既然是邪惡的，怎能說出良善的話？因為心中所充滿的，口裡就說出來。

惡人的言語埋伏著，等待要流人的血，正直人的口能拯救人。

吐露真情的，彰顯正義，作假見證的卻是詭詐。有人說話不慎，好像利刀刺人，智慧人的舌頭卻能醫治人。說實話的嘴唇，永遠堅立；撒謊的舌頭，眨眼間消失。

一句壞話也不可出口，卻要適當地說造就人的好話，使聽見的人得益處。
