智者以明辨著稱，甜言能說服人心。智慧是智者的生命泉，愚昧為愚人帶來懲罰。智者三思而後言，其言使人長見識。

義人口出智慧，訴說正義，銘記上帝的律法，從不失腳。

應對得體，心中愉快；言語合宜，何等美好！

耶穌說：「律法教師成為天國的門徒後，就像一個家的主人，能從他的庫房裡拿出新的和舊的東西來。」

你們這些毒蛇的後代！你們心裡邪惡，又怎能講出好話呢？因為心裡充滿的，口裡自然會說出來。

惡人的言語暗藏殺機，正直人的口拯救生命。

忠實的證人講真話，作偽證者滿口謊言。出言不慎猶如利劍傷人，智者之言卻能醫治創傷。誠實的口永遠長存，撒謊的舌轉瞬即逝。

污言穢語一句都不可出口，要隨時隨地說造就人的好話，使聽的人得益處。
