You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

You nest of poisonous snakes! How can you who are evil say anything good? Your mouths say everything that is in your hearts.

You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind,but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

as it is written:“ None is righteous, no, not one;no one understands; no one seeks for God.All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”“ Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.”“ The venom of asps is under their lips.”“ Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”

The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.

You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

For the fool speaks folly, and his heart is busy with iniquity, to practice ungodliness, to utter error concerning the Lord, to leave the craving of the hungry unsatisfied, and to deprive the thirsty of drink.
