若云菓美、則樹亦美；若云樹惡、則菓亦惡。樹之美惡、因菓而知也。

“你们或以为树好，果子也好；树坏，果子也坏；因为看果子就可以知道树。

“你们知道树好，果子也好；又知道树坏，果子也坏；因为看果子就可以知道树。

“好树结好果子，坏树结坏果子，看果子就能知道树的好坏。

“你们种好树就结好果子，种坏树就结坏果子；凭着果子就能认出树来。

爾或以樹為善、其果亦善、或以樹為惡、其果亦惡、蓋觀果而知樹矣、

親近天主、則天主必殷勤相愛矣。吾願作惡者皆洗濯其手、而二三其德者皆純潔其心也。

耶穌謂之曰：『爾法利塞人、惟滌盃盤外表、而爾之內心、實藏垢納污。無知之人乎、夫彼創造外物者、非即創造內心者乎？

務宜進而結實、以副悔悟之心。毋思吾輩有亞伯漢為我祖先；蓋吾語爾、天主全能、即欲化此頑石為亞伯漢之子孫、亦易如反掌耳。方今斧斤已加於樹根、凡不結嘉實之樹、必伐而投諸火中。

矇哉法利塞人！爾其先潔杯盤之內、則其外自潔矣。

尚望恆寓吾內、俾吾亦得恆寓爾內。枝脫樹不能結實；爾離我、亦無以結實。吾為樹身、爾為樹枝。凡寓乎吾身、而有我寓乎其衷者、必結實繁多。離乎吾、爾將一無所能。人而不寓吾內、則如枝之被棄而槁、人將拾之、舉以供爨矣。爾若恆與吾俱、而吾道恆存乎爾、則爾凡有所求、必得如願以償。

兄弟試思鳳果樹能結橄欖葡萄樹能結鳳果乎？鹹水之泉、亦不能出甘水矣。

今斧斤已加樹根矣、凡不結嘉實之樹、悉將伐而付諸一炬。』
