「好樹結好果子，壞樹結壞果子，看果子就能知道樹的好壞。

你們可以憑他們結的果子認出他們。荊棘怎能結出葡萄呢？蒺藜怎能長出無花果呢？同樣，好樹結好果子，壞樹結壞果子；好樹結不出壞果子，壞樹也結不出好果子。凡不結好果子的樹，都要被砍下來丟在火裡。因此，你們可以憑他們結的果子認出他們。

你們親近上帝，上帝就必親近你們。有罪的人啊，洗淨你們的手吧！三心二意的人啊，潔淨你們的心吧！

你們要恨惡邪惡，喜愛良善，在城門口伸張正義，也許萬軍之上帝耶和華會恩待約瑟的餘民。

你們要離棄從前所有的罪惡，洗心革面。以色列人啊！你們何必走向滅亡呢？』

主對他說：「你們法利賽人洗淨杯盤的外面，你們裡面卻充滿了貪婪和邪惡。愚蠢的人啊，人裡外不都是上帝所創造的嗎？

你們要結出與悔改相稱的果子。不要心裡說，『我們是亞伯拉罕的子孫。』我告訴你們，上帝可以從這些石頭中興起亞伯拉罕的子孫。現在斧頭已經放在樹根上了，不結好果子的樹都要被砍下，丟在火裡。

瞎眼的法利賽人啊！要先洗淨杯盤的裡面，好讓外面也乾淨。

你們要常在我裡面，我就常在你們裡面。枝子若離開葡萄樹，就不能結果子。同樣，你們若不常在我裡面，也不能結果子。「我是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裡面的，我也常在他裡面，他就會多結果子，因為你們離開了我什麼都不能做。不常在我裡面的人就像丟在外面枯乾的枝子，最後只有被人拾起來丟在火裡燒掉。如果你們常在我裡面，我的話也常在你們裡面，無論你們求什麼，都會得到應允。

我的弟兄姊妹，無花果樹能結出橄欖嗎？葡萄樹能結出無花果嗎？一個鹹水泉必流不出甜水來。

現在斧頭已經放在樹根上了，不結好果子的樹都要被砍下丟在火裡。」
