For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us,but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies.Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?

For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit,tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age,and then have committed apostasy, to renew them again to repentance, since they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over again and holding him up to contempt.

even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,

( Now he said this about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were going to receive, for the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the person who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

For this reason I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

[ But Jesus said,“ Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”] Then they threw dice to divide his clothes.

It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self- controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Of course, I myself was convinced that it was necessary to do many things hostile to the name of Jesus the Nazarene.And that is what I did in Jerusalem: Not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons by the authority I received from the chief priests, but I also cast my vote against them when they were sentenced to death.I punished them often in all the synagogues and tried to force them to blaspheme. Because I was so furiously enraged at them, I went to persecute them even in foreign cities.

So Jesus said to them,“ The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.But those who are regarded as worthy to share in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”– and I am the worst of them!

Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out,

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,‘ Look at him, a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.”

There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some were saying,“ He is a good man,” but others,“ He deceives the common people.”

who will not receive in this age a hundred times as much– homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutions– and in the age to come, eternal life.

And in hell, as he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far off with Lazarus at his side.So he called out,‘ Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in anguish in this fire.’But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things and Lazarus likewise bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in anguish.Besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us, so that those who want to cross over from here to you cannot do so, and no one can cross from there to us.’

They replied,“ You aren’t from Galilee too, are you? Investigate carefully and you will see that no prophet comes from Galilee!”[[

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Look at him, a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

But you rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a man who was a murderer be released to you.You killed the Originator of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this fact we are witnesses!

The godless at heart nourish anger, they do not cry out even when he binds them.
