He answered,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

耶穌對他們說：「大衛和那些與他在一起的人飢餓時所做的事，你們難道沒有讀過嗎？

耶穌曰、爾未讀大衛及從者飢時所為乎、

耶穌曰、爾不知大闢及從人饑時所行乎、

答曰、經載大衛及從者饑時所行之事、爾未讀之乎、

耶穌對曰：『爾豈未讀大維及從者飢時之所為乎？

Jesus answered,“ Haven’t you read about what David did? He and his men were hungry.

He said to them,“ Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him:

Jesus said to them,“ Haven’t you read in the Scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

He said to them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry:

But He said to them,“ Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and his companions—

But He said to them,“ Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was hungry, and they that were with him;

He said to them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry—

But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

He said to them,“ Haven’t you read what David did when he and his companions were hungry–

But he said to them,“ Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;

Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever you can find.”But the priest answered David,“ I don’t have any ordinary bread on hand; however, there is some consecrated bread here— provided the men have kept themselves from women.”David replied,“ Indeed women have been kept from us, as usual whenever I set out. The men’s bodies are holy even on missions that are not holy. How much more so today!”So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there except the bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the Lord and replaced by hot bread on the day it was taken away.

Jesus answered them,“ Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?

He answered,“ Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry and in need?In the days of Abiathar the high priest, he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”

Now about the dead rising— have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the account of the burning bush, how God said to him,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

“ Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.“ Yes,” replied Jesus,“ have you never read,“‘ From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”

Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture:“‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;

Or haven’t you read in the Law that the priests on Sabbath duty in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are innocent?

But about the resurrection of the dead— have you not read what God said to you,

“ What is written in the Law?” he replied.“ How do you read it?”

“ Haven’t you read,” he replied,“ that at the beginning the Creator‘ made them male and female,’
