當一個壯士全副武裝地看守自己家園的時候，他所擁有的就平安無事。可是比他更強的人一旦來到，並且勝過了他，就會奪走他所依靠的盔甲兵器，又把掠奪物分給別人。

「沒有人能進入一個壯士的家搶奪他的東西，如果不先把那壯士捆住，就不能搶奪他的家。

勇士的擄物能被奪回嗎？強橫者的俘虜能被救出嗎？

當那一千年完結了，撒旦就要從它的監禁中被釋放出來。它將出去迷惑在大地四角中的列國，就是歌革和瑪各，召集他們參與戰爭；他們的人數多如海沙。他們上來布滿了寬闊的大地，包圍了聖徒的營地，就是那蒙愛的城。可是有火從天上降下來，吞滅了他們。

因此，我必使他在偉人中分得一份，他必與強者同分戰利品，因為他澆奠了自己的性命，以至於死。他被列在罪人當中，卻擔當了眾人的罪，又為罪人代求。」

接著，我看見一位天使從天上降下來，手裡拿著無底坑的鑰匙和一條大鎖鏈。他抓住了龍——那古蛇，就是魔鬼撒旦，把牠捆綁了一千年。這位天使把牠丟進無底坑裡，關上了無底坑，並用印封上，使牠不能再迷惑列國，直到那一千年完結。這些事以後，牠必須暫時被釋放。

接著，天上發生了戰爭：米迦勒和他的天使們與龍交戰，龍和牠的使者們也應戰，可是龍不能得勝，天上再也沒有牠們的地方了。於是那巨龍被摔了下來。牠就是那古蛇，被稱為魔鬼和撒旦，那迷惑普天下的。牠被摔在地上，牠的使者們也與牠一起被摔了下來。隨後，我聽見天上有一個大聲音說：「我們神的救恩、大能、國度，和他基督的權柄，現在都來到了！因為我們弟兄的控告者，就是那日夜在我們神面前控告他們的，已經被摔下去了。

繼續犯罪的人屬於魔鬼，因為魔鬼從起初就一直犯罪。為此，神的兒子顯現了，是為了廢除魔鬼的作為。
