那一千年過後，撒旦會從被監禁的地方得到釋放。牠會再度欺騙天下各國，就是歌革和瑪各，叫他們召集軍隊準備打仗，軍隊的數目多如海沙。他們傾巢而出，佈滿大地，將聖徒的陣營和上帝所愛的城團團圍住。那時烈火從天而降，燒滅了他們。

我要使祂與偉人同享尊榮，跟強者同分戰利品，因為祂奉獻了自己的生命。祂被列在罪犯中，卻擔當了許多人的罪，又為罪人代求。」

我又看見一位天使從天而降，手裡拿著無底坑的鑰匙和一條大鎖鏈。他捉住巨龍，就是那古蛇——魔鬼，又名撒旦，將牠捆綁一千年。他把牠扔進無底坑裡關起來，加上封印，使牠不能再欺騙各國的人。一千年期滿後，牠會暫時被釋放。

天上起了戰爭，米迦勒和他的天使出戰巨龍。巨龍和牠的天使極力抵抗，那巨龍敗下陣來，天上再沒有牠們的立足之地，牠和牠的天使都一同從天上被摔到地上。巨龍就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人類的。我聽見天上有大響聲說：「我們上帝的救贖、權能、國度和祂所立的基督的權柄現在來臨了。因為那晝夜不停地在我們上帝面前控告我們弟兄的，已經被摔到地上了。

一直犯罪的人是屬魔鬼的，因為魔鬼從起初便犯罪，但上帝兒子的顯現是為了摧毀魔鬼的工作。
