那一千年过后，撒旦会从被监禁的地方得到释放。它会再度欺骗天下各国，就是歌革和玛各，叫他们召集军队准备打仗，军队的数目多如海沙。他们倾巢而出，布满大地，将圣徒的阵营和上帝所爱的城团团围住。那时烈火从天而降，烧灭了他们。

我要使祂与伟人同享尊荣，跟强者同分战利品，因为祂奉献了自己的生命。祂被列在罪犯中，却担当了许多人的罪，又为罪人代求。”

我又看见一位天使从天而降，手里拿着无底坑的钥匙和一条大锁链。他捉住巨龙，就是那古蛇——魔鬼，又名撒旦，将它捆绑一千年。他把它扔进无底坑里关起来，加上封印，使它不能再欺骗各国的人。一千年期满后，它会暂时被释放。

天上起了战争，米迦勒和他的天使出战巨龙。巨龙和它的天使极力抵抗，那巨龙败下阵来，天上再没有它们的立足之地，它和它的天使都一同从天上被摔到地上。巨龙就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人类的。我听见天上有大响声说：“我们上帝的救赎、权能、国度和祂所立的基督的权柄现在来临了。因为那昼夜不停地在我们上帝面前控告我们弟兄的，已经被摔到地上了。

一直犯罪的人是属魔鬼的，因为魔鬼从起初便犯罪，但上帝儿子的显现是为了摧毁魔鬼的工作。
