Now when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath!”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”

The Pharisees saw this. They said to Jesus,“ Look! It is against the Law to do this on the Sabbath day. But your disciples are doing it anyway!”

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

But some Pharisees saw them do it and protested,“ Look, your disciples are breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ See, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do upon the sabbath.

And a man was there whose hand was withered. And they questioned Jesus, asking,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”— so that they might bring charges against Him.

Jesus answered them,“ I did one deed, and you all are astonished.For this reason Moses has given you circumcision( not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and even on a Sabbath you circumcise a man.If a man receives circumcision on a Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry at Me because I made an entire man well on a Sabbath?Do not judge by the outward appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

And Jesus responded and said to the lawyers and Pharisees,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”

For six days you shall labor and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you.For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

And they were watching Him closely to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.He* said to the man with the withered hand,“ Get up and come forward!”And He* said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to kill?” But they kept silent.After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He* said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

And then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

For this reason the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because He was doing these things on a Sabbath.But He answered them,“ My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”

Now Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent over double, and could not straighten up at all.When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her,“ Woman, you are freed from your sickness.”And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood up straight again, and began glorifying God.But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response,“ There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”But the Lord answered him and said,“ You hypocrites, does each of you on the Sabbath not untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it away to water it?And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this restraint on the Sabbath day?”And as He said this, all His opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by Him.

On another Sabbath He entered the synagogue and taught; and a man was there whose right hand was withered.Now the scribes and the Pharisees were watching Him closely to see if He healed on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse Him.But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand,“ Get up and come forward!” And he got up and came forward.And Jesus said to them,“ I ask you whether it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do harm, to save a life or to destroy it?”And after looking around at them all, He said to him,“ Stretch out your hand!” And he did so; and his hand was restored.But they themselves were filled with senseless rage, and began discussing together what they might do to Jesus.

“ For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.

Now it was a Sabbath on the day that Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes.Then the Pharisees also were asking him again how he received his sight. And he said to them,“ He applied mud to my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying,“ This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying,“ How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?” And there was dissension among them.

Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was a Sabbath on that day.So the Jews were saying to the man who was cured,“ It is a Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your pallet.”But he answered them,“ He who made me well was the one who said to me,‘ Pick up your pallet and walk.’”

“ If, because of the Sabbath, you restrain your foot From doing as you wish on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a pleasure, and the holy day of the Lord honorable, And honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure And speaking your own word,

“ For six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as the stranger residing with you, may refresh themselves.

For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.So the sons of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations as a permanent covenant.’It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”

Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation;and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ The man must be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.”So all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
