是故當慎如何聽道、蓋凡有者將予之、無有者、即其所自以為有、亦將奪之、○

斯時耶路撒冷、猶太徧境、及約但一帶之人、咸出就之、

約翰之施洗何自、自天乎、自人乎、眾竊議曰、若云自天、彼必曰、然則何不信之、

乃至約但河一帶之地、傳悔改之洗禮、俾罪得赦、如先知以賽亞書載云、野有聲呼曰、備主道、直其徑、諸谷必填、岡陵必卑、屈曲使直、崎嶇使平、凡有血氣者、必得見天主拯救云、有多人至、欲受洗於約翰、約翰語之曰、蝮類乎、誰示爾避將來之怒乎、

維時有施洗約翰來、在猶太曠野宣道曰、爾當悔改、因天國近矣、此人乃先知以賽亞所指者曰、野有聲呼云、備主道、直其徑、

飄蕩或作沸然如水、不可越弟、蓋登父床、污穢我榻、○
