只要凭着信心求，一点不疑惑；因为那疑惑的人，就像海中的波浪，被风吹动翻腾。

使我们不再作小孩子，中了人的诡计和欺骗的法术，被一切异教之风摇动，飘来飘去，就随从各样的异端；

约翰是点着的明灯，你们情愿暂时喜欢他的光。

在旷野有人声喊着说：‘预备主的道，修直他的路。’”照这话，约翰来了，在旷野施洗，传悔改的洗礼，使罪得赦。犹太全地和耶路撒冷的人都出去到约翰那里，承认他们的罪，在约旦河里受他的洗。

约翰所差来的人既走了，耶稣就对众人讲论约翰说：“你们从前出去到旷野，是要看什么呢？要看风吹动的芦苇吗？你们出去，到底是要看什么？要看穿细软衣服的人吗？那穿华丽衣服、宴乐度日的人是在王宫里。你们出去，究竟是要看什么？要看先知吗？我告诉你们，是的，他比先知大多了。经上记着说：‘我要差遣我的使者在你前面预备道路’，所说的就是这个人。我告诉你们，凡妇人所生的，没有一个大过约翰的；然而神国里最小的比他还大。”众百姓和税吏既受过约翰的洗，听见这话，就以神为义；但法利赛人和律法师没有受过约翰的洗，竟为自己废弃了神的旨意。。

所以，你们应当小心怎样听；因为凡有的，还要加给他；凡没有的，连他自以为有的，也要夺去。”

那时，耶路撒冷和犹太全地，并约旦河一带地方的人，都出去到约翰那里，

约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的？是从天上来的？是从人间来的呢？”他们彼此商议说：“我们若说‘从天上来’，他必对我们说：‘这样，你们为什么不信他呢？’

他就来到约旦河一带地方，宣讲悔改的洗礼，使罪得赦。正如先知以赛亚书上所记的话，说：“在旷野有人声喊着说：‘预备主的道，修直他的路！一切山洼都要填满；大小山冈都要削平！弯弯曲曲的地方要改为正直；高高低低的道路要改为平坦！凡有血气的，都要见神的救恩！’”约翰对那出来要受他洗的众人说：“毒蛇的种类！谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢？

耶稣转过身来，看见他们跟着，就问他们说：“你们要什么？”他们说：“拉比，在哪里住？”（“拉比”翻出来就是“夫子”。）

我有此意，岂是反复不定吗？我所起的意，岂是从情欲起的，叫我忽是忽非吗？我指着信实的神说，我们向你们所传的道，并没有是而又非的。

那时，有施洗的约翰出来，在犹太的旷野传道，说：“天国近了，你们应当悔改！”这人就是先知以赛亚所说的。他说：“在旷野有人声喊着说：‘预备主的道，修直他的路！’”

但你放纵情欲，滚沸如水，必不得居首位；因为你上了你父亲的床，污秽了我的榻。
