Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he thinketh he hath.

When I therefore was thus minded, did I show fickleness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yea yea and the nay nay?But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay.

And in those days cometh John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judæa, saying,Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.For this is he that was spoken of through Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight.

Boiling over as water, thou shalt not have the pre- eminence; Because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; Then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
