Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.Jesus answered and said to them,“ Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them.So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked.This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed,said with a loud voice,“ Stand up straight on your feet!” And he leaped and walked.

Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come forth!”And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them,“ Loose him, and let him go.”

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said,“ Look at us.”So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.Then Peter said,“ Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them— walking, leaping, and praising God.

So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”

Jesus answered them,“ I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me.

And it happened, when the king of Israel read the letter, that he tore his clothes and said,“ Am I God, to kill and make alive, that this man sends a man to me to heal him of his leprosy? Therefore please consider, and see how he seeks a quarrel with me.”

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying,“ See that no one knows it.”

But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish— the very works that I do— bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,“ Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.

Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said,“ Young man, I say to you, arise.”So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying,“ A great prophet has risen up among us”; and,“ God has visited His people.”

When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying,“ Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying,“ I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.And Jesus said to him,“ See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

He said to them,“ Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him.But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.

For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,” Says the Lord.“ But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.

The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. Let your heart live forever!

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him,“ Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

Bring out the blind people who have eyes, And the deaf who have ears.

The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous.

Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying,“ He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also, and him who has no helper.He will spare the poor and needy, And will save the souls of the needy.

“ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

So I fed the flock for slaughter, in particular the poor of the flock. I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bonds; and I fed the flock.
