The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord anointed me To bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners;To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The cloak of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,

On that day those who are deaf will hear words of a book, And out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of those who are blind will see.

“ I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations,To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father.

Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

At that very time He cured many people of diseases and afflictions and evil spirits; and He gave sight to many who were blind.And He answered and said to them,“ Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: people who were blind receive sight, people who limped walk, people with leprosy are cleansed and people who were deaf hear, dead people are raised up, and people who are poor have the gospel preached to them.

And large crowds came to Him bringing with them those who were limping, had impaired limbs, were blind, or were unable to speak, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them.So the crowd was astonished as they saw those who were unable to speak talking, those with impaired limbs restored, those who were limping walking around, and those who were blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel.

And those who were blind and those who limped came to Him in the temple area, and He healed them.

In Lystra a man was sitting whose feet were incapacitated. He had been disabled from his mother’s womb, and had never walked.This man was listening to Paul as he spoke. Paul looked at him intently and saw that he had faith to be made well,and he said with a loud voice,“ Stand upright on your feet!” And the man leaped up and began to walk.

And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”Out came the man who had died, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus* said to them,“ Unbind him, and let him go.”

And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order for him to beg for charitable gifts from those entering the temple grounds.When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple grounds, he began asking to receive a charitable gift.But Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said,“ Look at us!”And he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.But Peter said,“ I do not have silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!”And grasping him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened.And leaping up, he stood and began to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, in accordance with the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

but if I do them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father.”

Jesus answered them,“ I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name, these testify of Me.

But when the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said,“ Am I God, to kill and to keep alive, that this man is sending word to me to cure a man of his leprosy? But consider now, and see how he is seeking a quarrel against me.”

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying,“ See that no one knows about this!”

But the testimony I have is greater than the testimony of John; for the works which the Father has given Me to accomplish— the very works that I do— testify about Me, that the Father has sent Me.

When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,“ You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again!”

if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well,let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead— by this name this man stands here before you in good health.

And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said,“ Young man, I say to you, arise!”And the dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother.Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying,“ A great prophet has appeared among us!” and,“ God has visited His people!”

When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.And a man with leprosy came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said,“ Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, saying,“ I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.And Jesus* said to him,“ See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

“ Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

He said,“ Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.

For My hand made all these things, So all these things came into being,” declares the Lord.“ But I will look to this one, At one who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at My word.

The afflicted will eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. May your heart live forever!

this man came to Jesus at night and said to Him,“ Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

Bring out the people who are blind, even though they have eyes, And those who are deaf, even though they have ears.

The Lord opens the eyes of those who are blind; The Lord raises up those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous.

Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name as they observed His signs which He was doing.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.

And they were utterly astonished, saying,“ He has done all things well; He makes even those who are deaf hear, and those who are unable to talk, speak.”

For he will save the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted also, and him who has no helper.He will have compassion on the poor and needy, And he will save the lives of the needy.

“ Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a Man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know—

So I pastured the flock doomed to slaughter, therefore also the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Favor, and the other I called Union; so I pastured the flock.
