just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.

We know that we are of God, and the whole world is under the sway of the evil one.And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know the true one. We are in the true one— that is, in his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

No one who denies the Son has the Father; he who confesses the Son has the Father as well.

not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God. He has seen the Father.

The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hands.

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow— in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I know him because I am from him, and he sent me.”

No one has ever seen God. The one and only Son, who is himself God and is at the Father’s side— he has revealed him.

since you gave him authority over all people, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent— Jesus Christ.

“ I have revealed your name to the people you gave me from the world. They were yours, you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into his hands, that he had come from God, and that he was going back to God.

And just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son also gives life to whom he wants.The Father, in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,so that all people may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.“ Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.“ Truly I tell you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in himself, so also he has granted to the Son to have life in himself.And he has granted him the right to pass judgment, because he is the Son of Man.Do not be amazed at this, because a time is coming when all who are in the graves will hear his voiceand come out— those who have done good things, to the resurrection of life, but those who have done wicked things, to the resurrection of condemnation.

and subjected everything under his feet. For in subjecting everything to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. As it is, we do not yet see everything subjected to him.But we do see Jesus— made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace he might taste death for everyone— crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death.For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God— for whom and through whom all things exist— should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.

He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church,which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

For he must reign until he puts all his enemies under his feet.The last enemy to be abolished is death.For God has put everything under his feet. Now when it says“ everything” is put under him, it is obvious that he who puts everything under him is the exception.
