2 Timothy 1 9
He has saved us and called us to a holy life— not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say,‘ My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
Why do you complain to him that he responds to no one’s words?
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!“ Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”“ Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?”For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
