And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

迦百農歟、爾將升於天乎、必下陰府耳、蓋在爾中所行異能、若行於所多瑪、則今日猶存、

迦百農乎、爾曾得升至天、又將推落暗府、蓋在爾中所施異能、若施於所多馬、則彼邑今日猶存、

加伯農乎、爾會得升至天、後必墮於地獄、蓋在爾中所施之異能、若施於所多瑪、則於今日尚存、

葛法農乎、爾欲蒙陟而登青雲乎？爾必被降而入冥獄也。蓋設令爾中所行神蹟、行於瑣同、則彼邑至今應猶依然無恙耳。

And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

And what about you, Capernaum? Will you be lifted to the heavens? No! You will go down to the place of the dead. Suppose the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom. It would still be here today.

“ And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until today.

And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt go down unto Hades: for if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until this day.

You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

and leaving Nazareth, He came and settled in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

But you said in your heart,‘ I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’Nevertheless you will be brought down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.

Therefore He came again to Cana of Galilee, where He had made the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son was sick at Capernaum.When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and began asking Him to come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.Then Jesus said to him,“ Unless you people see signs and wonders, you simply will not believe.”The royal official* said to Him,“ Sir, come down before my child dies.”Jesus* said to him,“ Go; your son is alive.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went home.And as he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was alive.So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him,“ Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him,“ Your son is alive”; and he himself believed, and his entire household.This is again a second sign that Jesus performed when He had come from Judea into Galilee.

Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of heaven,and He overthrew those cities, and all the surrounding area, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

Now the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked sinners against the Lord.

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, held for judgment;and did not spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example of what is coming for the ungodly;and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the perverted conduct of unscrupulous people( for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds),then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

And He said to them,“ No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me:‘ Physician, heal yourself! All the miracles that we heard were done in Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’ ”

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

For You will not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

Though you make your home high like the eagle, Though you set your nest among the stars, From there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.

How the Lord has covered the daughter of Zion With a cloud in His anger! He has hurled The glory of Israel from heaven to earth, And has not remembered His footstool In the day of His anger.

Now when they came to Capernaum, those who collected the two drachma tax came to Peter and said,“ Does your teacher not pay the two drachma tax?”

As I live,” declares the Lord God,“ Sodom, your sister and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done!Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, plenty of food, and carefree ease, but she did not help the poor and needy.So they were haughty and committed abominations before Me. Therefore I removed them when I saw it.

I made the nations quake from the sound of its fall when I made it go down to Sheol with those who go down to the pit; and all the well watered trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, were comforted in the earth beneath.They also went down with it to Sheol to those who were slain by the sword; and those who were its strength lived in its shade among the nations.

And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, begging Him,

just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these angels indulged in sexual perversion and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

And their dead bodies will lie on the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

“ Son of man, take up a song of mourning over the king of Tyre and say to him,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you.By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, you covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.Your heart was haughty because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I threw you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.By the multitude of your wrongdoings, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you.All who know you among the peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever.” ’ ”

And in Hades he raised his eyes, being in torment, and* saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his arms.
