迦百農歟、爾將升於天乎、必下陰府耳、蓋在爾中所行異能、若行於所多瑪、則今日猶存、

迦百農乎、爾曾得升至天、又將推落暗府、蓋在爾中所施異能、若施於所多馬、則彼邑今日猶存、

加伯農乎、爾會得升至天、後必墮於地獄、蓋在爾中所施之異能、若施於所多瑪、則於今日尚存、

葛法農乎、爾欲蒙陟而登青雲乎？爾必被降而入冥獄也。蓋設令爾中所行神蹟、行於瑣同、則彼邑至今應猶依然無恙耳。

And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

And what about you, Capernaum? Will you be lifted to the heavens? No! You will go down to the place of the dead. Suppose the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom. It would still be here today.

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

“ And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.

And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that occurred in you had occurred in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.

And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt go down unto Hades: for if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until this day.

后来，他离开拿撒勒，来到西布伦和拿弗他利境内，住在湖边的迦百农。

你心里曾说：‘我要升到天上，我要高举我的宝座在神的众星之上，我要坐在北方极处的聚会山上，我要升到云端之上，我要使自己与至高者相比。’然而你必被丢下阴间，下到阴坑的极处！

耶稣又来到加利利的迦拿，就是他把水变成酒的地方。有一个大臣，他的儿子在迦百农患了病。这个人听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利，就到耶稣那里去，请求他下去治愈他的儿子，因为他的儿子快要死了。耶稣对他说：“你们如果没有看见神迹和奇事，你们就绝不会信！”那大臣对耶稣说：“先生，求你在我的孩子还没有死之前下来吧！”耶稣对他说：“你回去吧，你的儿子活了！”那人相信耶稣的话，就回去了。他正下去的时候，他的奴仆们迎着他来，告诉他孩子活了。他就问孩子好转的时间，他们说：“昨天下午一点，烧就退了。”这位父亲就知道，那正是耶稣说“你的儿子活了”的时间。于是他自己和全家人都信了。这是耶稣从犹太回到加利利以后所行的第二件神迹。

那时，耶和华就使硫磺与火从天而降，从耶和华那里降在所多玛和格摩拉，使那些城和整个平原，连同各城所有的居民和地上生长的都遭覆灭。

那时所多玛人在耶和华面前罪大恶极。

因为每一个自我高举的都会被降卑；而自我降卑的都会被高举。”

要知道：既然神没有顾惜那些犯罪的天使，把他们扔进地狱，囚禁在幽暗的坑里，拘留到审判的时候；既然神也没有顾惜上古的世界，使洪水临到那不敬神的世界，只保守了义的传道者挪亚一家八口；既然神又定了所多玛和格摩拉的罪，把这二城倾覆，烧成灰烬，做为以后不敬神之人的鉴戒；既然神拯救了那因恶人的好色行为而哀伤的义人罗得——因为这义人住在他们中间，看见又听见他们的不法行为，他公义的心天天受到折磨——那么，主就知道怎样拯救敬神的人脱离试炼，却把不义的人留在惩罚之下，直到审判的日子，

耶稣对他们说：“你们一定会用这句谚语对我说：‘医生啊，使你自己痊愈吧！’，‘我们听见在迦百农所发生的事，你在你的家乡这里也应该做！’”

我还告诉你：你是彼得，我要在这磐石上建立我的教会，阴间的门不能胜过它。

因为你不会把我的灵魂撇弃在阴间，也不会让你的圣者经历腐朽。

他们来到迦百农，那些收圣殿税的人来到彼得那里，说：“你们的老师不纳圣殿税吗？”

耶稣进了迦百农，有个百夫长前来恳求他，

同样，所多玛、格摩拉及其周围的城市，照着他们的样子放纵行淫，随从变态的肉欲，就遭受永火的刑罚，成为我们的鉴戒。

他们的尸体会被抛在大城的街道上。这大城按属灵的意思叫做所多玛，又叫做埃及，也就是他们的主被钉十字架的地方。

财主在阴间的痛苦中，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，
