“ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades.

Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for Yahweh has spoken:“ I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled against me.The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel doesn’t know. My people don’t consider.”Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

But my people didn’t listen to my voice. Israel desired none of me.So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.Oh that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!

in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,and they may recover themselves out of the devil’s snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.

The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

But what do you think? When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They didn’t repent of their works.

People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn’t repent and give him glory.

For you bring certain strange things to our ears. We want to know therefore what these things mean.”

Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Listen now to what Yahweh says:“ Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.Hear, you mountains, Yahweh’s controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me!For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of Yahweh.”

I listened and heard, but they didn’t say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying,“ What have I done?” Everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

He answered him,“ Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed with these plagues, didn’t repent of the works of their hands, that they wouldn’t worship demons, and the idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood; which can’t see, hear, or walk.They didn’t repent of their murders, their sorceries, their sexual immorality, or their thefts.
