“我要把这世代比作什么呢？它好像一些小孩子坐在市中心，呼叫别的小孩子，

「我要把這世代比做什麼呢？它就好比孩子們坐在街市上呼叫別的孩子，

斯世將何以喻之、譬童子坐於市、呼其侶、

斯世將何以比之、譬童子坐市井、呼其侶曰、

是世我何以譬之、譬諸童子坐於街市、呼其侶曰、

然今茲世代、吾將何以比之？譬諸童子坐於市井、而招其伴曰：

“ To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

“ What can I compare today’s people to? They are like children sitting in the markets and calling out to others. They say,

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

“ To what can I compare this generation? It is like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends,

“ To what should I compare this generation? It’s like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to other children:

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call out to the other children,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, who call unto their fellows

“ To what should I compare this generation? It’s like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to each other:

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

“ To what should I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to one another,

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions

And the Lord said,“ To what then shall I liken the men of this generation, and what are they like?They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying:‘ We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.’For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say,‘ He has a demon.’The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’But wisdom is justified by all her children.”

Then He said,“ What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?

Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

How shall I console you? To what shall I liken you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare with you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is spread wide as the sea; Who can heal you?

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

Then He said,“ To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it?
