「我要把這世代比做什麼呢？它就好比孩子們坐在街市上呼叫別的孩子，

斯世將何以喻之、譬童子坐於市、呼其侶、

斯世將何以比之、譬童子坐市井、呼其侶曰、

是世我何以譬之、譬諸童子坐於街市、呼其侶曰、

然今茲世代、吾將何以比之？譬諸童子坐於市井、而招其伴曰：

“ To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:

“ What can I compare today’s people to? They are like children sitting in the markets and calling out to others. They say,

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

“ To what can I compare this generation? It is like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends,

“ To what should I compare this generation? It’s like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to other children:

“ But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call out to the other children,

“ But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions,

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the marketplaces, who call unto their fellows

“ To what should I compare this generation? It’s like children sitting in the marketplaces who call out to each other:

But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows,

Jesus went on to say,“ To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:“‘ We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say,‘ He has a demon.’The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say,‘ Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’But wisdom is proved right by all her children.” (niv)

Then Jesus asked,“ What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? (niv)

Truly I tell you, all this will come on this generation. (niv)

What can I say for you? With what can I compare you, Daughter Jerusalem? To what can I liken you, that I may comfort you, Virgin Daughter Zion? Your wound is as deep as the sea. Who can heal you? (niv)

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (niv)

Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. (niv)

Again he said,“ What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? (niv)
