務以天主之全副武裝自被、以應付魔鬼之戰略。蓋吾人之對敵、非區區血氣之屬、乃諸品惡神、黑暗世界之權威領袖以及充塞雲霄之眾魔也。因是之故、惟執有天主之全副武器、足以自全於危難之日、且於勝利之後、尚能屹立不搖、而遊刃有餘也。

勸爾勿務易腐之糧、宜務永生之糧、此糧惟受天主聖父印證之人子、能賜於爾。』

耶穌入殿、方施訓、司祭長與民間耆老前來問曰：『汝憑何權而行此諸事、且孰授汝以此權耶？』耶穌答曰：『予亦問爾一言、請爾先答、予當告以何權行此。夫如望之洗、何自而來、自天乎、自人乎？』若輩私議曰：『吾儕若曰自天、彼將問我何以不信；若曰自人、民又可畏、蓋眾皆以如望為先知也。』因對曰：『不知。』耶穌乃謂之曰：『然則吾亦不願告爾憑何權以行此矣。』『爾曹於意云何：人有二子、諭其長者曰：「兒今日可往葡萄園工作。」對曰：「不願。」既而悔之、乃往。諭次子亦往、次子曰：「大人、我往。」然竟未往也。二者孰孝？』對曰：『長子。』耶穌曰：『吾實語爾、稅吏娼妓、將先爾曹入天主國。蓋如望以義路開導於爾、爾不之信；而稅吏娼妓、則信之矣。爾見其事。猶未能悔悟而起信也。

是故吾親愛之同道乎、爾其戰戰兢兢、力行弗懈、以保爾終。素稔爾等從善如流；當予與爾等偕時固已如此、今予遠在他方、爾等更宜小心翼翼、服膺聖教。

眾與稅吏、咸受洗於如望、聞其言莫不稱頌天主至德；惟法利塞與律學士輩、獨不受其洗、是亦辜負天主之宏謨而已矣。』
