他在各會堂裡教導人，很受眾人的尊崇。耶穌來到拿撒勒自己長大的地方，照著習慣在安息日進入會堂，站起來要讀經。有人把以賽亞先知的書遞給他，他展開書卷找到一處，上面寫著：“主的靈在我身上，因為他膏我去傳福音給貧窮的人，差遣我去宣告被擄的得釋放，瞎眼的得看見，受壓制的得自由，又宣告主悅納人的禧年。”他把書卷捲好，交還侍役，就坐下。會堂裡眾人都注視他。他就對他們說：“這段經文今天應驗在你們中間（“中間”原文作“耳中”）了。”

不久，耶穌周遊各城各村講道，宣揚神的國的福音，和他在一起的有十二個門徒，

我們憑著主耶穌傳給你們的是甚麼命令，你們是知道的。

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裡教導人，宣揚天國的福音，醫治民間各種疾病、各種病症。

耶穌對他們說：“我們到鄰近的鄉鎮去吧，我也好在那裡傳道，因為我就是為這事而來的。”於是他走遍加利利全地，在他們的會堂裡傳道，並且趕鬼。

耶穌走遍各城各鄉，在各會堂裡教導人，宣揚天國的福音，醫治各種疾病、各種病症。

如果你們遵守我的命令，就必定住在我的愛裡，正像我遵守了我父的命令，住在他的愛裡一樣。

他吩咐我們向人民傳講，鄭重證明他是神所立，審判活人死人的主。

一直到他藉著聖靈吩咐所揀選的使徒之後，被接上升的日子為止。

弟兄們，我們奉主耶穌基督的名吩咐你們，凡是游手好閒的弟兄，不按著你們從我們所領受的教訓去行，就應當遠離他。

我吩咐你們的一切，都要教導他們遵守。這樣，我就常常與你們同在，直到這世代的終結。”

耶穌講完了這些話，群眾都驚奇他的教訓。

你當毫無玷污，無可指摘地持守這命令，直到我們主耶穌基督的顯現。
