他在各会堂里教导人，很受众人的尊崇。耶稣来到拿撒勒自己长大的地方，照着习惯在安息日进入会堂，站起来要读经。有人把以赛亚先知的书递给他，他展开书卷找到一处，上面写着：“主的灵在我身上，因为他膏我去传福音给贫穷的人，差遣我去宣告被掳的得释放，瞎眼的得看见，受压制的得自由，又宣告主悦纳人的禧年。”他把书卷卷好，交还侍役，就坐下。会堂里众人都注视他。他就对他们说：“这段经文今天应验在你们中间（“中间”原文作“耳中”）了。”

不久，耶稣周游各城各村讲道，宣扬神的国的福音，和他在一起的有十二个门徒，

我们凭着主耶稣传给你们的是什么命令，你们是知道的。

耶稣走遍加利利，在各会堂里教导人，宣扬天国的福音，医治民间各种疾病、各种病症。

他吩咐我们向人民传讲，郑重证明他是神所立，审判活人死人的主。

一直到他藉着圣灵吩咐所拣选的使徒之后，被接上升的日子为止。

弟兄们，我们奉主耶稣基督的名吩咐你们，凡是游手好闲的弟兄，不按着你们从我们所领受的教训去行，就应当远离他。

我吩咐你们的一切，都要教导他们遵守。这样，我就常常与你们同在，直到这世代的终结。”

耶稣讲完了这些话，群众都惊奇他的教训。

你当毫无玷污，无可指摘地持守这命令，直到我们主耶稣基督的显现。
