Luke 12:49-53
I came to cast fire upon the earth; and what do I desire, if it is already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!Think ye that I am come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:for there shall be from henceforth five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. They shall be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother in law against her daughter in law, and daughter in law against her mother in law.

Acts 13:45-50
But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted the things which were spoken by Paul, and blasphemed. And Paul and Barnabas spake out boldly, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first be spoken to you. Seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee for a light of the Gentiles, That thou shouldest be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth. And as the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was spread abroad throughout all the region. But the Jews urged on the devout women of honorable estate, and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their borders.

John 7:40-52
Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, This is of a truth the prophet.Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him?The officers answered, Never man so spake. The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray?Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees? But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed.Nicodemus saith unto them( he that came to him before, being one of them),Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from himself and know what he doeth? They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

Jeremiah 15:10
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them doth curse me.
