Look at the birds of the air. They don’t plant or gather crops. They don’t put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in heaven feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are?

You have made them a little lower than the angels. You placed on them a crown of glory and honor.

Think about the ravens. They don’t plant or gather crops. They don’t have any barns at all. But God feeds them. You are worth much more than birds!

Here is what is written in the Law of Moses.“ Do not stop an ox from eating while it helps separate the grain from the straw.”( Deuteronomy 25:4) Is it oxen that God is concerned about?Doesn’t he say that for us? Yes, it was written for us. Whoever plows and separates the grain hopes to share the harvest. And it is right for them to hope for this.

He said to them,“ What if one of your sheep falls into a pit on the Sabbath day? Won’t you take hold of it and lift it out?A person is worth more than sheep! So the Law allows us to do good on the Sabbath day.”
