When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( the zealot), and Judas( son of James).

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him,“ Come, follow me.”Philip was from Bethsaida, Andrew and Peter’s hometown.Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.”“ Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael.“ Can anything good come from Nazareth?”“ Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied.

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas( nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came.They told him,“ We have seen the Lord!” But he replied,“ I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them.“ Peace be with you,” he said.Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”“ My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.Then Jesus told him,“ You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”

paid a visit to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee. They said,“ Sir, we want to meet Jesus.”Philip told Andrew about it, and they went together to ask Jesus.

Several of the disciples were there— Simon Peter, Thomas( nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples.

Thomas, nicknamed the Twin, said to his fellow disciples,“ Let’s go, too— and die with Jesus.”

As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up and followed him.

Simon( whom he named Peter), Andrew( Peter’s brother), James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,Matthew, Thomas, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( who was called the zealot),Judas( son of James), Judas Iscariot( who later betrayed him).

In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews.

This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing to the“ twelve tribes”— Jewish believers scattered abroad. Greetings!

The next day Paul went with us to meet with James, and all the elders of the Jerusalem church were present.

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

He motioned for them to quiet down and told them how the Lord had led him out of prison.“ Tell James and the other brothers what happened,” he said. And then he went to another place.

This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James. I am writing to all who have been called by God the Father, who loves you and keeps you safe in the care of Jesus Christ.

Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector’s booth.“ Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him.

When they had finished, James stood and said,“ Brothers, listen to me.

Judas( not Judas Iscariot, but the other disciple with that name) said to him,“ Lord, why are you going to reveal yourself only to us and not to the world at large?”

Jesus replied,“ Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary( the mother of James and Joseph), and the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee.

Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked,“ Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.Philip replied,“ Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!”
