One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,

Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

and he executed James, John’s brother, with the sword.

When the hour came, he reclined at the table, and the apostles with him.

Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Jesus responded,“ Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons approached him with her sons. She knelt down to ask him for something.

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying,“ Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”

So she went running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said to them,“ They’ve taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they’ve put him!”

This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.

While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives across from the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

what we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.We are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.

As he passed alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother, casting a net into the sea— for they were fishermen.“ Follow me,” Jesus told them,“ and I will make you fish for people.”

As soon as they left the synagogue, they went into Simon and Andrew’s house with James and John.

So Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them, the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and asked,“ Lord, who is the one that’s going to betray you?”

Then they cast lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias and he was added to the eleven apostles.

I, John, your brother and partner in the affliction, kingdom, and endurance that are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, was reclining close beside Jesus.

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and his brother John and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.

Now Peter and John were going up to the temple for the time of prayer at three in the afternoon.

Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

Simon Peter, Thomas( called“ Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of his disciples were together.

Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard John and followed him.He first found his own brother Simon and told him,“ We have found the Messiah”( which is translated“ the Christ”),and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, he said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated“ Peter”).

Because of this, the wisdom of God said,‘ I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.

And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,

The revelation of Jesus Christ that God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had shown them to me.
