But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say,

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and[ unto] magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we[ are] not careful to answer thee in this matter.If it be[ so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver[ us] out of thine hand, O king.But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and[ that] all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I[ am] a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute[ you], delivering[ you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.And it shall turn to you for a testimony.Settle[ it] therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and[ some] of you shall they cause to be put to death.And ye shall be hated of all[ men] for my name’s sake.

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead,[ even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole.This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Then Peter and the[ other] apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.Him hath God exalted with his right hand[ to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.And we are his witnesses of these things; and[ so is] also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.When they heard[ that], they were cut[ to the heart], and took counsel to slay them.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day[ is] the evil thereof.

And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all[ men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:Especially[ because I know] thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:Unto which[ promise] our twelve tribes, instantly serving[ God] day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against[ them].And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled[ them] to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted[ them] even unto strange cities.
