必有神蹟隨著信我的人，他們能奉我的名趕鬼，說新的方言，又能用手拿蛇，萬一喝了什麼毒物，也不會受害。他們把手按在病人身上，病人就可痊癒。」

我要把我父所應許的賜給你們。不過，你們要留在城裡，直到你們得到天上來的能力。」

我已經給你們權柄，使你們能踐踏蛇和蠍子，勝過仇敵的權勢，沒有什麼能傷害你們。

但聖靈降臨在你們身上後，你們必得到能力，在耶路撒冷、猶太全境和撒瑪利亞，直到地極，作我的見證人。」

約翰回答說：「除非是從天上賞賜下來的，否則人什麼都得不到。

天明時分，祂召集門徒，從中選出十二人立為使徒。

因為我會賜給你們口才、智慧，使你們的仇敵全無反駁的餘地。

城牆高大，有十二個城門，東、北、南、西每面三個門，每個城門都有一位天使把守，門上寫著以色列十二支派的名字。

你們殺了生命之主，上帝卻使祂從死裡復活了。我們都是這事的見證人。你們認識的這個乞丐因為相信耶穌的名，得到了醫治。你們都看見了，他能痊癒是因為他信耶穌。

在天上出現了一個奇異的景象：有一個婦人，身披太陽，腳踏月亮，頭戴有十二顆星的冠冕。

因為你把管理世人的權柄賜給了祂，使祂可以將永生賜予你交託給祂的人。

傍晚，耶穌和十二個門徒吃晚餐。

耶穌又說：「願你們平安。父怎樣差遣我，我也照樣差遣你們。」然後祂向他們吹了一口氣，說：「你們領受聖靈吧！你們赦免誰的罪，誰的罪就得到赦免；你們不赦免誰的罪，誰的罪就得不到赦免。」

父愛子，已把萬物交在祂手裡。

耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，到萬物更新、人子坐在祂榮耀的寶座上時，你們這些跟從我的人也要坐在十二個寶座上，審判以色列的十二個支派。

不要讓我們遇見誘惑，救我們脫離那惡者。因為國度、權柄、榮耀都是你的，直到永遠。阿們！』

耶穌還在說話的時候，十二門徒中的猶大來了，隨行的還有祭司長和民間長老派來的一大群拿著刀棍的人。
