“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the law my servant Moses gave you. Remember the rules and laws I gave him at Mount Horeb. They were for the whole nation of Israel.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant— all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

“ Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

“ Remember the instruction of Moses My servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel,[ with] the statutes and judgments.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, to whom at Horeb I gave rules and regulations for all Israel to obey.

“ Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when the Lord said to me,‘ Assemble the people to Me, that I may have them hear My words so that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well.

But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the Law as violators.For whoever keeps the whole Law, yet stumbles in one point, has become guilty of all.For He who said,“ Do not commit adultery,” also said,“ Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but do murder, you have become a violator of the Law.So speak, and so act, as those who are to be judged by the law of freedom.For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

“ You shall have no other gods before Me.“ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,but showing favor to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.“ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.“ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.For six days you shall labor and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you.For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.“ Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.“ You shall not murder.“ You shall not commit adultery.“ You shall not steal.“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”And all the people were watching and hearing the thunder and the lightning flashes, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it all, they trembled and stood at a distance.Then they said to Moses,“ Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but do not have God speak to us, or we will die!”However, Moses said to the people,“ Do not be afraid; for God has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you will not sin.”So the people stood at a distance, while Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.

“ Do not presume that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill.For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law, until all is accomplished!Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.“ For I say to you that unless your righteousness far surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;for it is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a servant of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for the sake of conscience.For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.Pay to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; respect to whom respect; honor to whom honor.Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.For this,“ You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

But Abraham* said,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’But he said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’But he said to him,‘ If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”

“ Now these are the ordinances which you are to set before them:“ If you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve for six years; but on the seventh he shall leave as a free man without a payment to you.If he comes alone, he shall leave alone; if he is the husband of a wife, then his wife shall leave with him.If his master gives him a wife, and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall belong to her master, and he shall leave alone.But if the slave plainly says,‘ I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not leave as a free man,’then his master shall bring him to God, then he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him permanently.“ Now if a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do.If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He does not have authority to sell her to a foreign people, because of his unfairness to her.And if he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her according to the custom of daughters.If he takes to himself another woman, he may not reduce her food, her clothing, or her conjugal rights.But if he will not do these three things for her, then she shall go free for nothing, without payment of money.“ He who strikes someone so that he dies shall certainly be put to death.Yet if he did not lie in wait for him, but God caused him to fall into his hand, then I will appoint you a place to which he may flee.If, however, someone is enraged against his neighbor, so as to kill him in a cunning way, you are to take him even from My altar, to be put to death.“ And one who strikes his father or his mother shall certainly be put to death.“ Now one who kidnaps someone, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall certainly be put to death.“ And one who curses his father or his mother shall certainly be put to death.“ Now if people have a quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with a fist, and he does not die but is confined to bed,if he gets up and walks around outside on his staff, then he who struck him shall go unpunished; he shall only pay for his loss of time, and shall pay for his care until he is completely healed.“ And if someone strikes his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies at his hand, he shall be punished.If, however, the slave survives a day or two, no vengeance shall be taken; for the slave is his property.“ Now if people struggle with each other and strike a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, but there is no injury, the guilty person shall certainly be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide.But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life,

And behold, a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”And He said to him,“ What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?”And he answered,“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”And He said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.”

One of the scribes came up and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him,“ What commandment is the foremost of all?”Jesus answered,“ The foremost is,‘ Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one;and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’The second is this:‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”And the scribe said to Him,“ Well said, Teacher; You have truly stated that He is One, and there is no other besides Him;and to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him,“ You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And then, no one dared any longer to question Him.

“ Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”And He said to him,“ ‘ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’This is the great and foremost commandment.The second is like it,‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’Upon these two commandments hang the whole Law and the Prophets.”

Do we then nullify the Law through faith? Far from it! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

The Lord was pleased for His righteousness’ sake To make the Law great and glorious.

And someone came to Him and said,“ Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?”And He said to him,“ Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”Then he* said to Him,“ Which ones?” And Jesus said,“ You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony;Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”The young man* said to Him,“ All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?”Jesus said to him,“ If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.

To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak in accordance with this word, it is because they have no dawn.

You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me;and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.I do not receive glory from people;but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.How can you believe, when you accept glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

Now the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,“ Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them,‘ When anyone of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or the flock.If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without defect; he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting, so that he may be accepted before the Lord.And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, so that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf.Then he shall slaughter the bull before the Lord; and Aaron’s sons the priests shall offer up the blood and sprinkle the blood around on the altar that is at the doorway of the tent of meeting.He shall then skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces.And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.

He declares His words to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.He has not dealt this way with any other nation; And as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise the Lord!

“ See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you are to do these things in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say,‘ Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
