“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the law my servant Moses gave you. Remember the rules and laws I gave him at Mount Horeb. They were for the whole nation of Israel.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant— all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

“ Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the Law of Moses My servant, the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, to whom at Horeb I gave rules and regulations for all Israel to obey.

“ Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

The day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me,‘ Assemble the people before Me, and I will let them hear My words, so that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth and may instruct their children.’

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit.

But if you show favoritism, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.For whoever keeps the entire law, yet fails in one point, is guilty of breaking it all.For He who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. So if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you are a lawbreaker.Speak and act as those who will be judged by the law of freedom.For judgment is without mercy to the one who hasn’t shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

For you were called to be free, brothers; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.

Do not have other gods besides Me.Do not make an idol for yourself, whether in the shape of anything in the heavens above or on the earth below or in the waters under the earth.You must not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the fathers’ sin, to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,but showing faithful love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commands.Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses His name.Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy:You are to labor six days and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. You must not do any work— you, your son or daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the foreigner who is within your gates.For the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days; then He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and declared it holy.Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.Do not murder.Do not commit adultery.Do not steal.Do not give false testimony against your neighbor.Do not covet your neighbor’s house. Do not covet your neighbor’s wife, his male or female slave, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.All the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain surrounded by smoke. When the people saw it they trembled and stood at a distance.“ You speak to us, and we will listen,” they said to Moses,“ but don’t let God speak to us, or we will die.”Moses responded to the people,“ Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you will fear Him and will not sin.”And the people remained standing at a distance as Moses approached the thick darkness where God was.

“ Don’t assume that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.For I assure you: Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished.Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches people to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God.So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience.And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God’s public servants, continually attending to these tasks.Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.The commandments: Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not covet; and whatever other commandment— all are summed up by this: Love your neighbor as yourself.Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.

“ But Abraham said,‘ They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.’“‘ No, father Abraham,’ he said.‘ But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’“ But he told him,‘ If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.’”

“ These are the ordinances that you must set before them:“ When you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for six years; then in the seventh he is to leave as a free man without paying anything.If he arrives alone, he is to leave alone; if he arrives with a wife, his wife is to leave with him.If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children belong to her master, and the man must leave alone.“ But if the slave declares:‘ I love my master, my wife, and my children; I do not want to leave as a free man,’his master is to bring him to the judges and then bring him to the door or doorpost. His master must pierce his ear with an awl, and he will serve his master for life.“ When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she is not to leave as the male slaves do.If she is displeasing to her master, who chose her for himself, then he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners because he has acted treacherously toward her.Or if he chooses her for his son, he must deal with her according to the customary treatment of daughters.If he takes an additional wife, he must not reduce the food, clothing, or marital rights of the first wife.And if he does not do these three things for her, she may leave free of charge, without any exchange of money.“ Whoever strikes a person so that he dies must be put to death.But if he didn’t intend any harm, and yet God caused it to happen by his hand, I will appoint a place for you where he may flee.If a person schemes and willfully acts against his neighbor to murder him, you must take him from My altar to be put to death.“ Whoever strikes his father or his mother must be put to death.“ Whoever kidnaps a person must be put to death, whether he sells him or the person is found in his possession.“ Whoever curses his father or his mother must be put to death.“ When men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or his fist, and the injured man does not die but is confined to bed,if he can later get up and walk around outside leaning on his staff, then the one who struck him will be exempt from punishment. Nevertheless, he must pay for his lost work time and provide for his complete recovery.“ When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies under his abuse, the owner must be punished.However, if the slave can stand up after a day or two, the owner should not be punished because he is his owner’s property.“ When men get in a fight and hit a pregnant woman so that her children are born prematurely but there is no injury, the one who hit her must be fined as the woman’s husband demands from him, and he must pay according to judicial assessment.If there is an injury, then you must give life for life,

Just then an expert in the law stood up to test Him, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”“ What is written in the law?” He asked him.“ How do you read it?”He answered: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.“ You’ve answered correctly,” He told him.“ Do this and you will live.”

One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked Him,“ Which command is the most important of all?”“ This is the most important,” Jesus answered: Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is One.Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.“ The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”Then the scribe said to Him,“ You are right, Teacher! You have correctly said that He is One, and there is no one else except Him.And to love Him with all your heart, with all your understanding, and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is far more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”When Jesus saw that he answered intelligently, He said to him,“ You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to question Him any longer.

“ Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?”He said to him,“ Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.This is the greatest and most important command.The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”

Do we then cancel the law through faith? Absolutely not! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

The Lord was pleased, because of His righteousness, to magnify His instruction and make it glorious.

Just then someone came up and asked Him,“ Teacher, what good must I do to have eternal life?”“ Why do you ask Me about what is good?” He said to him.“ There is only One who is good. If you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”“ Which ones?” he asked Him. Jesus answered: Do not murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not bear false witness;honor your father and your mother; and love your neighbor as yourself.“ I have kept all these,” the young man told Him.“ What do I still lack?”“ If you want to be perfect,” Jesus said to him,“ go, sell your belongings and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”When the young man heard that command, he went away grieving, because he had many possessions.

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.

You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, yet they testify about Me.And you are not willing to come to Me so that you may have life.“ I do not accept glory from men,but I know you— that you have no love for God within you.I have come in My Father’s name, yet you don’t accept Me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.How can you believe? While accepting glory from one another, you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God.Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom you have set your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me.But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

Then the Lord summoned Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting:“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them: When any of you brings an offering to the Lord from the livestock, you may bring your offering from the herd or the flock.“ If his gift is a burnt offering from the herd, he is to bring an unblemished male. He must bring it to the entrance to the tent of meeting so that he may be accepted by the Lord.He is to lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering so it can be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.He is to slaughter the bull before the Lord; Aaron’s sons the priests are to present the blood and sprinkle it on all sides of the altar that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.Then he must skin the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.The sons of Aaron the priest will prepare a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.

He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.He has not done this for any nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!

Look, I have taught you statutes and ordinances as the Lord my God has commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to possess.Carefully follow them, for this will show your wisdom and understanding in the eyes of the peoples. When they hear about all these statutes, they will say,‘ This great nation is indeed a wise and understanding people.’
