“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the law my servant Moses gave you. Remember the rules and laws I gave him at Mount Horeb. They were for the whole nation of Israel.

“ Remember to obey the Law of Moses, my servant— all the decrees and regulations that I gave him on Mount Sinai for all Israel.

“ Remember the instruction of Moses my servant, the statutes and ordinances I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the Law of Moses My servant, the statutes and ordinances which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel.

“ Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.

how on the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me,‘ Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it.For he who said,“ Do not commit adultery,” also said,“ Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty.For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.For the whole law is fulfilled in one word:“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.“ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.“ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates.For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.“ Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.“ You shall not murder.“ You shall not commit adultery.“ You shall not steal.“ You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far offand said to Moses,“ You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

“ Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.For the commandments,“ You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word:“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

But Abraham said,‘ They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’And he said,‘ No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’He said to him,‘ If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’”

“ Now these are the rules that you shall set before them.When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.If he comes in single, he shall go out single; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him.If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out alone.But if the slave plainly says,‘ I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,’then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever.“ When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do.If she does not please her master, who has designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has broken faith with her.If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter.If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or her marital rights.And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money.“ Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee.But if a man willfully attacks another to kill him by cunning, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.“ Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall be put to death.“ Whoever steals a man and sells him, and anyone found in possession of him, shall be put to death.“ Whoever curses his father or his mother shall be put to death.“ When men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone or with his fist and the man does not die but takes to his bed,then if the man rises again and walks outdoors with his staff, he who struck him shall be clear; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall have him thoroughly healed.“ When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged.But if the slave survives a day or two, he is not to be avenged, for the slave is his money.“ When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine.But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life,

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying,“ Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”He said to him,“ What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”And he answered,“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”And he said to him,“ You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him,“ Which commandment is the most important of all?”Jesus answered,“ The most important is,‘ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’The second is this:‘ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”And the scribe said to him,“ You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him.And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him,“ You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.

“ Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”And he said to him,“ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.This is the great and first commandment.And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law.

The Lord was pleased, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify his law and make it glorious.

And behold, a man came up to him, saying,“ Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”And he said to him,“ Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.”He said to him,“ Which ones?” And Jesus said,“ You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”The young man said to him,“ All these I have kept. What do I still lack?”Jesus said to him,“ If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.I do not receive glory from people.But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope.For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”

The Lord called Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,“ Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of livestock from the herd or from the flock.“ If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the Lord.He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.Then he shall kill the bull before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall bring the blood and throw the blood against the sides of the altar that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.Then he shall flay the burnt offering and cut it into pieces,and the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.

He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel.He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his rules. Praise the Lord!

See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say,‘ Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
