“ I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed.

“ I the Lord do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.

“ I am the Lord. I do not change. That is why I have not destroyed you members of Jacob’s family.

“ For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.

“ Because I, the LORD, have not changed, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

“ For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, the sons of Jacob, have not come to an end.

“ For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

For I, Jehovah, change not; therefore ye, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

“ Because I, Yahweh, have not changed, you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

For I[ am] the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

“ Since, I, the LORD, do not go back on my promises, you, sons of Jacob, have not perished.

“ For I, Yahweh, don’t change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

“ I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

God replied to Moses,“ I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!”

“ I am the Alpha and the Omega— the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God.“ I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come— the Almighty One.”

I am the Lord; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle, though you don’t even know me,so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God. I am the Lord, and there is no other.I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.“ Open up, O heavens, and pour out your righteousness. Let the earth open wide so salvation and righteousness can sprout up together. I, the Lord, created them.

So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

This is what the Lord says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies:“ I am the First and the Last; there is no other God.

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation— a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them.

For I hold you by your right hand— I, the Lord your God. And I say to you,‘ Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.

I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior.First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,” says the Lord.

Yet he was merciful and forgave their sins and did not destroy them all. Many times he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury!

But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children

He is the Lord our God. His justice is seen throughout the land.He always stands by his covenant— the commitment he made to a thousand generations.This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac.He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never ending covenant:

God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. And it is he who says,“ I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness. I will take you by the hand and guard you, and I will give you to my people, Israel, as a symbol of my covenant with them. And you will be a light to guide the nations.You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons.“ I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.

They turned back and were as faithless as their parents. They were as undependable as a crooked bow.

So the Lord made a covenant with Abram that day and said,“ I have given this land to your descendants, all the way from the border of Egypt to the great Euphrates River—

Then the Lord told him,“ I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land as your possession.”

“ You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and renamed him Abraham.When he had proved himself faithful, you made a covenant with him to give him and his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites, and Girgashites. And you have done what you promised, for you are always true to your word.

No, I will not unleash my fierce anger. I will not completely destroy Israel, for I am God and not a mere mortal. I am the Holy One living among you, and I will not come to destroy.

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.
