He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness,

I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say,‘ It is my people;’ and they will say,‘ Yahweh is my God.’”

Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

Through him, then, let’s offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which proclaim allegiance to his name.But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

John answered them all,“ I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness. Put your trust in Yahweh.

For you, God, have tested us. You have refined us, as silver is refined.

“ Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies.“ My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name.The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of Yahweh of Armies.But you have turned away from the path. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” says Yahweh of Armies.

Yahweh, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.Let my prayer be set before you like incense; the lifting up of my hands like the evening sacrifice.

You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

But I have all things and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet- smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well- pleasing sacrifice to God.

Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice, and rejoice with you all.

But you will be called Yahweh’s priests. Men will call you the servants of our God. You will eat the wealth of the nations. You will boast in their glory.

The Levitical priests won’t lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings, to burn meal offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.”Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,“ Yahweh says:‘ If you can break my covenant of the day and my covenant of the night, so that there will not be day and night in their time;then may my covenant also be broken with David my servant, that he won’t have a son to reign on his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.As the army of the sky can’t be counted, and the sand of the sea can’t be measured; so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me.’”

“ I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far- away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh’s house.Of them I will also select priests and Levites,” says Yahweh.

They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.Men will call them rejected silver, because Yahweh has rejected them.”

Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him,“ Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.

Take away the dross from the silver, and material comes out for the refiner;

that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

“‘“ But the Levitical priests, the sons of Zadok, who performed the duty of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, shall come near to me to minister to me. They shall stand before me to offer to me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my instruction.

For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure has come.

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.It will please Yahweh better than an ox, or a bull that has horns and hoofs.

and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father— to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

“ Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:‘ Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it.As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.’”

Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”

Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful deeds to the children of men!Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his deeds with singing.

“ A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say,‘ How have we despised your name?’You offer polluted bread on my altar. You say,‘ How have we polluted you?’ In that you say,‘ Yahweh’s table is contemptible.’When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ neither will I accept an offering at your hand.For from the rising of the sun even to its going down, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the nations,” says Yahweh of Armies.

that I should be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the Good News of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.

I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Yahweh’s name.

Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.

Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.
