Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice– alive, holy, and pleasing to God– which is your reasonable service.

take my advice and buy gold from me refined by fire so you can become rich! Buy from me white clothing so you can be clothed and your shameful nakedness will not be exposed, and buy eye salve to put on your eyes so you can see!

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

“ Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.If you do not listen and take seriously the need to honor my name,” says the LORD who rules over all,“ I will send judgment on you and turn your blessings into curses– indeed, I have already done so because you are not taking it to heart.I am about to discipline your children and will spread offal on your faces, the very offal produced at your festivals, and you will be carried away along with it.Then you will know that I sent this commandment to you so that my covenant may continue to be with Levi,” says the LORD who rules over all.“ My covenant with him was designed to bring life and peace. I gave its statutes to him to fill him with awe, and he indeed revered me and stood in awe before me.He taught what was true; sinful words were not found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and integrity, and he turned many people away from sin.For the lips of a priest should preserve knowledge of sacred things, and people should seek instruction from him because he is the messenger of the LORD who rules over all.You, however, have turned from the way. You have caused many to violate the law; you have corrupted the covenant with Levi,” says the LORD who rules over all.

O LORD, I cry out to you. Come quickly to me! Pay attention to me when I cry out to you!May you accept my prayer like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering!

you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

For I have received everything, and I have plenty. I have all I need because I received from Epaphroditus what you sent– a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, very pleasing to God.

But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice together with all of you.

You will be called,‘ the LORD’s priests, servants of our God.’ You will enjoy the wealth of nations and boast about the riches you receive from them.

Nor will the Levitical priests ever lack someone to stand before me and continually offer up burnt offerings, sacrifice cereal offerings, and offer the other sacrifices.”’”The LORD spoke further to Jeremiah.“ I, LORD, make the following promise:‘ I have made a covenant with the day and with the night that they will always come at their proper times. Only if you people could break that covenantcould my covenant with my servant David and my covenant with the Levites ever be broken. So David will by all means always have a descendant to occupy his throne as king and the Levites will by all means always have priests who will minister before me.I will make the children who follow one another in the line of my servant David very numerous. I will also make the Levites who minister before me very numerous. I will make them all as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sands which are on the seashore.’”

I will perform a mighty act among them and then send some of those who remain to the nations– to Tarshish, Pul, Lud( known for its archers), Tubal, Javan, and to the distant coastlands that have not heard about me or seen my splendor. They will tell the nations of my splendor.They will bring back all your countrymen from all the nations as an offering to the LORD. They will bring them on horses, in chariots, in wagons, on mules, and on camels to my holy hill Jerusalem,” says the LORD,“ just as the Israelites bring offerings to the LORD’s temple in ritually pure containers.And I will choose some of them as priests and Levites,” says the LORD.

I reported,“ All of them are the most stubborn of rebels! They are as hard as bronze or iron. They go about telling lies. They all deal corruptly.The fiery bellows of judgment burn fiercely. But there is too much dross to be removed. The process of refining them has proved useless. The wicked have not been purged.They are regarded as‘ rejected silver’ because the LORD rejects them.”

Return to the LORD and repent! Say to him:“ Completely forgive our iniquity; accept our penitential prayer, that we may offer the praise of our lips as sacrificial bulls.

Remove the dross from the silver, and material for the silversmith will emerge;

Such trials show the proven character of your faith, which is much more valuable than gold– gold that is tested by fire, even though it is passing away– and will bring praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

“‘ But the Levitical priests, the descendants of Zadok who kept the charge of my sanctuary when the people of Israel went astray from me, will approach me to minister to me; they will stand before me to offer me the fat and the blood, declares the sovereign LORD.They will enter my sanctuary, and approach my table to minister to me; they will keep my charge.

For I am already being poured out as an offering, and the time for me to depart is at hand.

I will sing praises to God’s name! I will magnify him as I give him thanks!That will please the LORD more than an ox or a bull with horns and hooves.

and has appointed us as a kingdom, as priests serving his God and Father– to him be the glory and the power for ever and ever! Amen.

“ Son of man, the house of Israel has become slag to me. All of them are like bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the furnace; they are the worthless slag of silver.Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says:‘ Because all of you have become slag, look out!– I am about to gather you in the middle of Jerusalem.As silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin are gathered in a furnace so that the fire can melt them, so I will gather you in my anger and in my rage. I will deposit you there and melt you.I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in it.As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted in it, and you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out my anger on you.’”

Whoever presents a thank-offering honors me. To whoever obeys my commands, I will reveal my power to deliver.”

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his loyal love, and for the amazing things he has done for people!Let them present thank offerings, and loudly proclaim what he has done!

“ A son naturally honors his father and a slave respects his master. If I am your father, where is my honor? If I am your master, where is my respect? The LORD who rules over all asks you this, you priests who make light of my name! But you reply,‘ How have we made light of your name?’You are offering improper sacrifices on my altar, yet you ask,‘ How have we offended you?’ By treating the table of the LORD as if it is of no importance!For when you offer blind animals as a sacrifice, is that not wrong? And when you offer the lame and sick, is that not wrong as well? Indeed, try offering them to your governor! Will he be pleased with you or show you favor?” asks the LORD who rules over all.But now plead for God’s favor that he might be gracious to us.“ With this kind of offering in your hands, how can he be pleased with you?” asks the LORD who rules over all.“ I wish that one of you would close the temple doors, so that you no longer would light useless fires on my altar. I am not pleased with you,” says the LORD who rules over all,“ and I will no longer accept an offering from you.For from the east to the west my name will be great among the nations. Incense and pure offerings will be offered in my name everywhere, for my name will be great among the nations,” says the LORD who rules over all.

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve the gospel of God like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Look, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have purified you in the furnace of misery.

I will present a thank offering to you, and call on the name of the LORD.

Dear friends, do not be astonished that a trial by fire is occurring among you, as though something strange were happening to you.But rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also rejoice and be glad.

Present to God a thank-offering! Repay your vows to the sovereign One!

You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
