“ So I also have made you despised and of low reputation in the view of all the people, since you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in the instruction.”

所以我使你们被众人藐视，看为下贱；因你们不守我的道，竟在律法上瞻徇情面。”

因爾未守我道、在於法律、偏以待人、故我使爾成為可厭、眾民所鄙、○

不從我道、偏視我法、故我使眾、藐視爾曹、

爾不守我道、傳律法時、偏視不公、偏視不公或作瞻徇情面故我亦使爾為眾民所輕藐、視為卑賤、○

“ So I have caused you to be despised and humiliated before all the people, because you have not followed my ways but have shown partiality in matters of the law.”

“ So I have caused all the people to hate you. They have lost respect for you. You have not done what I told you to do. Instead, you have favored one person over another in matters of the law.”

and so I make you despised and abased before all the people, inasmuch as you do not keep my ways but show partiality in your instruction.”

“ So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favoritism in the way you carry out my instructions.”

“ So I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping my ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.”

“ Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base Before all the people, Because you have not kept My ways But have shown partiality in the law.”

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have had respect of persons in the law.

“ So I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.”

Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares,‘ I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the Lord declares,‘ Far be it from Me— for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be insignificant.

But Micaiah said,“ If you actually return safely, the Lord has not spoken by me.” And he said,“ Listen, all you people!”

Therefore it will be night for you— without vision, And darkness for you— without divination. The sun will go down on the prophets, And the day will become dark over them.The seers will be put to shame, And the diviners will be ashamed. Indeed, they will all cover their lips Because there is no answer from God.

I will also tear off your veils and save My people from your hands, and they will no longer be in your hands as prey; and you will know that I am the Lord.

You are not to show partiality in judgment; you shall hear the small and the great alike. You are not to be afraid of any person, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too difficult for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’

But from those who were of considerable repute( what they were makes no difference to me; God shows no favoritism)— well, those who were of repute contributed nothing to me.

“ You have heard that it was said,‘ You shall not commit adultery’;but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

“ But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithes of mint, rue, and every kind of garden herb, and yet you ignore justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

Behold, when the wall has fallen, will you not be asked,‘ Where is the plaster with which you plastered it?’ ”Therefore, this is what the Lord God says:“ I will make a violent wind break out in My wrath. There will also be in My anger a flooding rain and hailstones to consume it in wrath.So I will tear down the wall which you plastered over with whitewash and hurl it down to the ground, so that its foundation is exposed; and when it falls, you will perish in its midst. And you will know that I am the Lord.So I will expend My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it over with whitewash; and I will say to you,‘ The wall is gone and those who plastered it are gone,along with the prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem, and who see a vision of peace for her when there is no peace,’ declares the Lord God.

And He said to him,“ Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”Then he* said to Him,“ Which ones?” And Jesus said,“ You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony;

But wanting to justify himself, he said to Jesus,“ And who is my neighbor?”

And while all the people were listening, He said to the disciples,“ Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love personal greetings in the marketplaces, and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets,who devour widows’ houses, and for appearance’s sake offer long prayers. These will receive all the more condemnation.”

Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.”He was also saying to them,“ You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.For Moses said,‘ Honor your father and your mother’; and,‘ The one who speaks evil of father or mother, is certainly to be put to death’;but you say,‘ If a person says to his father or his mother, whatever I have that would help you is Corban( that is, given to God),’you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother;thereby invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”After He called the crowd to Him again, He began saying to them,“ Listen to Me, all of you, and understand:

“ Send word to all the exiles, saying,‘ This is what the Lord says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite:“ Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, although I did not send him, and he has made you trust in a lie,”therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants; he will not have anyone living among this people, and he will not see the good that I am going to do for My people,” declares the Lord,“ because he has spoken falsely against the Lord.” ’ ”

“ You have heard that it was said,‘ You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“ Again, you have heard that the ancients were told,‘ You shall not make false vows, but shall fulfill your vows to the Lord.’But I say to you, take no oath at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God,nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of His feet, nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.Nor shall you take an oath by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.But make sure your statement is,‘ Yes, yes’ or‘ No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin.

What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Far from it! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said,“ You shall not covet.”But sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead.I was once alive apart from the Law; but when the commandment came, sin came to life, and I died;and this commandment, which was to result in life, proved to result in death for me;

‘ You, therefore, hear the word of the Lord, all you exiles, whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.‘ This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you falsely in My name:“ Behold, I am going to hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will kill them before your eyes.Because of them a curse will be used by all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon, saying,‘ May the Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,’

“ You have heard that the ancients were told,‘ You shall not murder,’ and‘ Whoever commits murder shall be answerable to the court.’But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be answerable to the court; and whoever says to his brother,‘ You good for nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says,‘ You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

Behold, I am going to rebuke your descendants, and I will spread dung on your faces, the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.And those who have insight will shine like the glow of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

But as for you, you have turned aside from the way; you have caused many to stumble by the instruction; you have ruined the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of armies.

“ Woe to you, blind guides, who say,‘ Whoever swears by the temple, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple is obligated.’You fools and blind men! Which is more important, the gold or the temple that sanctified the gold?And you say,‘ Whoever swears by the altar, that is nothing; but whoever swears by the offering that is on it is obligated.’You blind men, which is more important, the offering or the altar that sanctifies the offering?Therefore, the one who swears by the altar, swears both by the altar and by everything on it.And the one who swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells in it.And the one who swears by heaven, swears both by the throne of God and by Him who sits upon it.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the Law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.You blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

Then Jeremiah the prophet said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Listen now, Hananiah: the Lord has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie.Therefore, this is what the Lord says:‘ Behold, I am going to remove you from the face of the earth. This year you are going to die, because you spoke falsely against the Lord.’ ”

The mentioning of the righteous is a blessing, But the name of the wicked will rot.
