“ The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

“ Suppose a man hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord God of Israel.“ Then he is harming the one he should protect,” says the Lord who rules over all. So be careful. And don’t be unfaithful.

“ For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

“ For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.“ To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

“ For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ and him who covers his garment with violence,” says the Lord of armies.“ So be careful about your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

“ For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

For I hate putting away, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith Jehovah of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

One who hates and divorces”, says Yahweh, the God of Israel,“ covers his garment with violence!” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don’t be unfaithful.

“ Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. (niv)

“ It has been said,‘ Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery. (niv)

Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked,“ Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”“ Haven’t you read,” he replied,“ that at the beginning the Creator‘ made them male and female,’and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”“ Why then,” they asked,“ did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”Jesus replied,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” (niv)

This is what the Lord says:“ Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Because of your sins you were sold; because of your transgressions your mother was sent away. (niv)

Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. (niv)

Their cobwebs are useless for clothing; they cannot cover themselves with what they make. Their deeds are evil deeds, and acts of violence are in their hands. (niv)

If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house,and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man,and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies,then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled. That would be detestable in the eyes of the Lord. Do not bring sin upon the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance. (niv)

The faithful have been swept from the land; not one upright person remains. Everyone lies in wait to shed blood; they hunt each other with nets.Both hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire— they all conspire together. (niv)

The bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow to wrap around you. (niv)
