耶和華以色列的神說：「我實在恨惡休妻的事，也恨惡那用殘暴遮蓋自己衣袍的人！」萬軍之耶和華說：「你們當謹守自己的心靈，不可背信。」

耶和华以色列的神说：“休妻的事和以强暴待妻的人都是我所恨恶的！所以当谨守你们的心，不可行诡诈。”这是万军之耶和华说的。

“ The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

“ Suppose a man hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord God of Israel.“ Then he is harming the one he should protect,” says the Lord who rules over all. So be careful. And don’t be unfaithful.

“ For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.”

“ For I hate divorce!” says the Lord, the God of Israel.“ To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ So guard your heart; do not be unfaithful to your wife.”

“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the LORD God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the LORD of Armies. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.

“ For I hate divorce,” says the Lord, the God of Israel,“ and him who covers his garment with violence,” says the Lord of armies.“ So be careful about your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

“ For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”

For I hate putting away, saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, and him that covereth his garment with violence, saith Jehovah of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

「凡是休妻另娶的，就是犯通姦罪；凡是娶了被丈夫休的女人的，也是犯通姦罪。

「又有吩咐：『如果有人休妻，要給妻子一份休書。』但是我告訴你們：凡是休妻的，除非為了淫亂的緣故，否則就是讓她犯通姦罪了；凡是娶了被休的女人的，也是犯通姦罪。

有些法利賽人前來試探耶穌，說：「無論出於什麼緣故，人是否可以休妻呢？」耶穌回答說：「你們難道沒有讀過嗎？造物主從起初就把人造成男的和女的。並且說：『為這緣故，人將離開父母，與妻子結合，兩個人就成為一體。』這樣，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體了。因此，神所配合的，人不可分開。」他們問耶穌：「那麼，為什麼摩西吩咐說，給一份休書，就可以休妻呢？」耶穌對他們說：「摩西因著你們的心裡剛硬，才准許你們休妻，但並不是從起初就這樣的。我告訴你們：如果有人不是由於淫亂的緣故而休妻，另娶別人，就是犯通姦罪。」

有些法利賽人前來試探耶穌，問他：「人是否可以休妻呢？」耶穌回答他們，說：「摩西是怎麼吩咐你們的？」他們說：「摩西准許人寫一份休書就可以休妻。」耶穌對他們說：「摩西因著你們的心裡剛硬，才給你們定下這條誡命。從創世之初，『神把人造成男的和女的』，『為這緣故，人將離開他的父母，與妻子結合，兩個人就成為一體。』這樣，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體了。因此，神所配合的，人不可分開。」進了屋子，門徒們又向耶穌問起這件事。耶穌就說：「如果有人休妻，另娶別人，就是犯通姦罪觸犯妻子。女人如果離棄丈夫，另嫁別人，也是犯通姦罪。」

耶和華如此說：「我休你們母親的休書在哪裡呢？我把你們賣給了我哪一個債主呢？看哪！你們被賣是因你們的罪孽，你們的母親被休是因你們的過犯。

掩蓋自己過犯的，不會興盛；承認並離棄過犯的，必蒙憐憫。

他們的網不能作為衣服，他們所做的也不能遮蓋自己；他們的作為是邪惡的作為，他們手中都是殘暴的行為；

床鋪太短，伸不直身子；被子太窄，裹不住全身。
