Jesus told him,“ Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

耶稣对他说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”

耶穌說：「狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，只是人子沒有枕頭的地方。」

耶穌對他說：「狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。」

耶穌對他說：『狐狸有洞，空中的飛鳥有窩，惟獨人子沒有枕頭的地方！』

耶穌曰、狐有穴、鳥有巢、惟人子無枕首之所也、

耶穌應之曰：『狐有丘、鳥有巢、人子獨無枕首地。』

Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens. Birds have nests. But the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

And Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

But Jesus replied,“ Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.”

And Jesus said to him,“ The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

And Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

And Jesus said unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

Jesus told him,“ Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air[ have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay[ his] head.

Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have dens and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?

“ If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters— yes, and even his own life— he cannot be my disciple.Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.“ For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?Otherwise, after he has laid the foundation and cannot finish it, all the onlookers will begin to ridicule him,saying,‘ This man started to build and wasn’t able to finish.’“ Or what king, going to war against another king, will not first sit down and decide if he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?If not, while the other is still far off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.In the same way, therefore, every one of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: Though he was rich, for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

Jesus told him,“ Foxes have dens, and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

But Joshua told the people,“ You will not be able to worship the LORD, because he is a holy God. He is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions and sins.If you abandon the LORD and worship foreign gods, he will turn against you, harm you, and completely destroy you, after he has been good to you.”“ No!” the people answered Joshua.“ We will worship the LORD.”Joshua then told the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you yourselves have chosen to worship the LORD.”“ We are witnesses,” they said.

Therefore, when many of his disciples heard this, they said,“ This teaching is hard. Who can accept it?”Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, asked them,“ Does this offend you?Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?The Spirit is the one who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.But there are some among you who don’t believe.”( For Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not believe and the one who would betray him.)He said,“ This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted to him by the Father.”From that moment many of his disciples turned back and no longer accompanied him.

Even a sparrow finds a home, and a swallow, a nest for herself where she places her young— near your altars, LORD of Armies, my King and my God.

When Jesus heard this, he told him,“ You still lack one thing: Sell all you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”After he heard this, he became extremely sad, because he was very rich.
