When His disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”

When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked,“ Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?”

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we bid fire to come down from heaven, and consume them?

And when his disciples James and John saw[ this], they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume them?”

When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and destroy them, just as Elijah did?”

But Elijah replied to the captain of fifty,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.So the king again sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men. And he said to him,“ You man of God, this is what the king says:‘ Come down quickly!’ ”But Elijah replied to them,“ If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty men.So the king again sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty men. When the third captain of fifty went up, he came and bowed down on his knees before Elijah, and begged him and said to him,“ You man of God, please let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.Behold, fire came down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in your sight.”

But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;for a man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness of God.

And now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant it to Your bond servants to speak Your word with all confidence,while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.”

I saw one of his heads as if it had been fatally wounded, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast;

But Jehu was not careful to walk in the Law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart; he did not desist from the sins of Jeroboam, into which he misled Israel.

So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them( now the Gibeonites were not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites, and the sons of Israel had made a covenant with them, but Saul had sought to kill them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah).

Then he said,“ Come with me and see my zeal for the Lord.” So he had him ride in his chariot.
