以利亚说：“我若是上帝的仆人，愿火从天降下烧死你和你的五十个部下。”火立刻从天降下，烧死了五十夫长和他的五十个部下。亚哈谢王又派一个五十夫长率领五十人去以利亚那里，五十夫长对以利亚说：“上帝的仆人啊，王命令你马上下来。”以利亚说：“我若是上帝的仆人，愿火从天降下，烧死你和你的五十个部下。”上帝的火从天降下，烧死了五十夫长和他的五十个部下。王再次派一个五十夫长率领五十人前去。五十夫长上去，双膝跪在以利亚面前，哀求道：“上帝的仆人啊，求你饶了我和你的五十名仆人的性命。前两个五十夫长和他们的部下都被天上降下的火烧死了，现在求你饶我一命！”

但如果你们心怀苦毒的嫉妒和自私的野心，就不要自夸说有智慧，也不要违背真理去撒谎。这种智慧并非来自天上，而是从世俗、私欲和魔鬼来的。哪里有嫉妒和自私的野心，哪里就会有混乱和各样的恶事。但从天上来的智慧首先是纯洁，然后是爱好和平、温良柔顺、充满怜悯、多结善果、不存偏见、没有虚伪。使人和睦的人撒下和平的种子，必收获仁义的果实。

我亲爱的弟兄姊妹，请记住：每个人都要快快地听，慢慢地说，慢慢地动怒。因为人的愤怒不能成就上帝的公义。

主啊，你看他们这样恐吓我们，求你帮助你的奴仆们坦然无惧地传你的道。求你伸出手医治疾病，借着你圣子耶稣的名行神迹奇事。”

我看见怪兽的一个头似乎受了致命伤，这伤却复原了。全世界的人都惊奇地跟从了它。

但耶户没有全心全意地遵守以色列的上帝耶和华的律法，却重蹈耶罗波安的覆辙，使以色列人陷入罪中。

原来基遍人不是以色列人，他们是亚摩利人的遗民。以色列人曾起誓不伤害他们，但扫罗为以色列人和犹大人发热心，试图铲除基遍人。大卫就召来基遍人，

说：“跟我来，看我怎样热心为耶和华工作。”于是耶户让他坐在车上。
